Andai Rasulullah S.A.W masih di sini

*****
Last night I watched a very good show aired on Al-Hijrah TV. This kind of reality TV is much better compared to those shown on E! channel. I happened to turn on to Al-Hijrah TV last week and the show caught my attention. They set up a CCTV to monitor the "victims" act to the pre-set situations.

The show is about ethics, comparing what we do every single day to what would Rasulullah s.a.w do in the same situation. And of course there are lesson learn from each situation. The host will ask "If Rasulullah s.a.w is still here with us, what will he do?"

Lesson 1 : Thank you & appreciating those who did something for you.

Customers ordering coffee at drive-thru kiosk. Firstly, does the customer greet the waiter? Upon served, do the customers say Thank You. Quite a number of customers fail the challenge. Some even just place their order, take it and drive off.

E.g : Assalamualaikum. How are you today? [proceed to order]. Thank you very much. Have a nice day.

Lesson 2 : Salam (Assalamualaikum)

A CCTV was set up in a taxi. A very simple test to see whether customers give Salam to the driver or not? The test shows only 2 out of 5 customers bother to say Assalamualaikum to the driver upon entering the cab.

Lesson 3 : Time management, punctuality

The situation was set up at the local university. Late comers were not allowed to enter the class. Instead, their photo was taken and they were forced to sign the "Surat Pengakuan" and paying for a penalty of 5 Riyal. The class start at 9.00a.m but some students turn up at 9.45a.m! Gross!

Lesson 4 : Be nice to your subordinate

Holding high post in an organization doesn't limit you to mingle around and to be nice to your subordinate. Rasulullah s.a.w himself at his position as a prophet, as a minister, as an army leader, a very well respected person still took his time to joke around and being close to the people around him putting, aside his status. It didn't tarnish or lower down his status instead people respected him more.

Renung renungkan dan selamat beramal...

Harimau Malaya

*****

I went to Bukit Jalil Stadium yesterday to watch Malaysia vs Singapore for 2014 World Cup Qualification second leg match. Malaysia lose 5-3 in the first leg played in Singapore. It was a poor effort by the players, lack of conviction, lacklustre save for few players who really show their spirit.
One thing I'm proud of is the togetherness of the Malaysians when it comes to supporting the national team. 85,000 tickets were sold and the stadium was at its full capacity. I reached the stadium at 6.45pm which by then the seats at level 2 were almost fully occupied. The match starts at 8.45pm. Supporters were cheering, chanting, singing, making 'Maxican Wave' to kill the time.

Harimau Malaya team plays quite a convincing game for the first 15-20 minutes creating a few good chances. After that the game is pretty much balance between both teams. It ended up scoreless first half. In the end the final result is 1-1 means Malaysia fails to qualify to the next stage.

Personally I think K.Rajagobal needs a bigger talent pool. He has limited option in his present line up due to injury and suspension. I might be expecting too much, which I should as these players are professional footballer. At times I do think that the coach's tactical play should be changed and explored further. Our game is too easy to 'read'. Perhaps he has his own reasons. But all we want is good result from the team. Apa-apa pun, masih lagi support Harimau Malaya...yeah!!!

Telefon Bijak

*****
I have been using my Blackberry Storm for almost 2 years now together with Celcom Exec plan that I have to sign up on a 24 month contract. So it's pretty much the end of the contract...sadly, so do to the phone itself. The touch screen is no longer as crisp as it supposed to be, at times some areas on the screen is not responding and it hanged quite frequent these days that I have to pull the battery out and restart. It almost reach to the "tahap kebencian" maximum.

Isn't that a good enough reason for me to get a new phone? There are numerous developments in the phone technology over the past 2 years. The latest being having a dual core processor (sounds more like a laptop processor though). Phone camera, HD videocam, LCD/LED screen, zooming, web browsing and many more exciting features are lined up to give top notch quality to the phone. That all adds up to the premium price that we have to pay for.

Currently I am looking at 2 options...Samsung Galaxy S II or HTC Sensation. I did the comparison online by looking at all the specs. Both are at the highest end of their offerings. So I think I have to do a physical test on both in order for me to decide.

As I don't chase after the phone technology, I just choose the best offering at time of purchase for I know the next best thing may come as soon as tomorrow. There's no point of chasing after the latest. It is an endless game. But no matter how smart the smartphone is, in the end it is up to the user to utilize the phone functions to maximize the return on their investment...

Gay?

****

Perhaps I judge too soon. But it's rather obvious that the guy that message me on Facebook is a gay. He put up a photo of him with a guy, photos of guys hugging each other, he had lip gloss on, and "Like" on Gay Lover....iewwww....

He said "Hi" followed by the love sign <3 ...Just to be polite, I asked whether I know him, perhaps from my ex-primary schoolmate. But his messages sounded more and more weird with some sort of a pick up line maybe, which I think it is rather lame (I don't know how does gay's world works)...In the end I just unfriend him from my Facebook. That was my first time ever to 'unfriend' people from facebook...and it's worth it...no offense...

Time is of the essence

*****
Last week I went to repair my watches. I accidentally broke the glass when I was in Mekah. The watch was a gift from my beloved girlfriend (the one on the left). I like the watch a lot. Firstly because she gave it to me, and secondly I don't have a watch for quite a long time.

Then I start to have an interest in watches and start collecting them. I bought a few watches every time I travel to KL. One of it is the one you see on the rifht with black wristband. I dropped it the second day after I bought it. It fell face down and the front glass shattered into gazillion pieces. Kaca-kacanya pecah seperti pecahnya hatiku...habis jarum2 jam pun tercabut...since then it never functioned well. The jarum keeps on dropping even after few rounds of repair at an establish watch dealer. So lets see if the hands of "kedai jam apek" at desa pandan can do the magic well...harap boleh pakei lamak-lamak...

Hidayah

I attended one of my best friend's wedding last month at Awana Genting Highland Resort. It was a typical hotel banquet wedding where guests greet the family, take their food at the buffet table and proceed to the banquet hall.

Mat Gerinsa is our ex-schoolmate and we have been friends since 1992 when we first enter a boarding school in Miri. He's from Limbang. Back then he was the only one who can play guitar so we envy his talent. We also happened to be universiti mate but I graduated a year earlier than him.

He is so used to the muslims and malays when we were in school. Well you can imagine boys at boarding school, we literally makan bersama, main bersama, tidur bersama, belajar bersama like 24 hours a day. He can even Azan, he memorize Al-Fathiah, perhaps doa makan too.

Nak dijadikan cerita, I think somehow the hidayah for him to embrace Islam started when we were in school. It wasn't a huge surprise to me when I was told that he had converted to Islam and marrying a muslim. Now, his name is Muhammad Mikhail Abdullah. True enough, I can see the difference in his face. Wajahnya berseri dan putih bersih dan bercahaya. Alhamdulillah. I was informed that quite a number of our ex-schoolmates found hidayah dan dah converted to Islam. Good news rite...

Life's short...

Life's short...shorter than you ever imagine..how?

I heard this from someone lately. At firts I dont really understand the meaning but slowly I put it all into perspective and let me share it with you.

Life's short...

Firstly I need you to answer this question. Berapa lamakah jarak masa di antara Azan dan Solat?
A) 5 minutes
B) 10 minutes
c) 15 minutes

There's no right answer to it because it varies from one masjid to another.

Life is as short as jarak masa antara Azan dan Solat. That's not that long. In fact it is not long at all. How?

Itulah jarak panjangnya kehidupan kita. Hanya terletak di antara Azan dan Solat. Sekejap jak kan??? Azan dah lepas. Sedar sik sedar bila2 masa solat perlu didirikan untuk kita.

Jadi apakah pengisian hidup kita sepanjang selepas Azan pertama didengarkan sehingga dikerjakan solat terakhir itu?

Renung-renungkan dan fikir-fikirkan.

Tw0 (2) kilometer morning walk...

Today is my 1st day going to work on LRT. Took a 3 minutes ride on a cab from the condo to Sri Rampai LRT station nearby then off on an LRT to KLCC.

A very warm welcome by the smell of pastries from Roti Boy Bakery shop right at the entrance of KLCC. Thinking of buying myself a sandwich…but…nahh..i’ll pass. That will add up extra weight that I have to carry. Stroll through the shops of KLCC then turning to the Aquaria Entrance. By then, I felt that “this is quite a distance walk” (for Kuching folks!) Its was merely about 1km walk. Or perhaps I may have to buy a new shoe that is more comfortable for “this” kind of walk.

I continue on with my walk but now at a much slower pace. Those people that I proudly walk passed earlier are now overtaking me…to comfort my own feeling…”these KL-ites are used to ‘this’ kinda walk”…

Approaching the exit of KL Convention Center, the smell of coffee beans fills up my nostril senses…there goes the Starbucks Coffee servicing their customers…again..no extra weight needed.

I managed to arrive safely at my office after a mere 2km walk this morning. Good exercise lah juak. Tapi lelahhhh…

However though..i still ended up with a cup of coffee and a sandwich kat office…beli kat ground floor of my office building…sama jak lah…that lights up my morning…yeah
